Calibre – a kind of measurement that can describe someone’s character or the level of their ability. It refers to someone of high quality; highly capable or experienced; someone of a HIGH STANDARD! There is no greater standard by which we, as “believers/the church” are measured other than Jesus Christ.
Matthew 16:24
Then Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.
Ephesians 5:1
Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.
1 Peter 2:21
“For you have been called for this purpose, since Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example for you to follow in His footsteps.”
Even the Apostle Paul, in 1 Corinthians 11:1, encourages the believers in Corinth to be ‘imitators of him as he is an imitator of Christ’. It is evident that God did not call us to Himself simply to receive salvation. Neither did He send Jesus to only die for our sins on a cross. He is looking for a people, who truly are “in this world, but not of this world”. The church today has lost it’s identity, it no longer upholds the standard by which we ought to be living. We have become imitators of this world, and not of Christ.
The Kingdom Of God is a constant theme throughout the word of God. The word of God refers to believers as ‘citizens’ in the Kingdom of God, of which Christ is King. Jesus came to not only establish the Kingdom; but to show us how to conduct ourselves as Kingdom citizens. Everything else is a result of being in this Kingdom. Jesus wasn’t a pure, sinless and blameless sacrifice for our sins so we could simply go to heaven. He came to reconcile us to God that we may once again be restored to His image and likeness, a true reflection of Christ, on and in the earth.
Luke 4: 43 Jesus said, “I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the other cities also, because I was sent for this purpose.”
It is my desire that this blog brings clarity, understanding, and restores the glory to the message of the Kingdom, and the standard to which God expects of us to live. It’s a time when the whole world, including the church, is in turmoil, darkness and confusion. It is only that which was always in the heart of the Father that is able to counter the darkness. Kingdom Calibre exists to breakdown religious constructs, reveal biblical accuracy, defend Holiness and establish a true comprehension of righteousness.
There is a ‘standard‘ that we, as believers, need to display in this earth, the standard set by Christ Jesus. A standard of righteousness and holiness, a standard contrary to the ways of this world. May this be a reference point for us to reconsider who we are, and who and what it is the Father created us to be. That when the measuring rod comes, we will not be found wanting.
